Additional information

<28>We apply a QTAX-based tag-team mass spectrometry strategy coupled with protein network analysis to acquire a comprehensive and detailed assessment of the protein interaction network (PIN) of the yeast 26S proteasome. Our network analysis links the proteasome to protein complexes associated with diverse cellular functions that may help in synthesis of proteasome inhibitors that have effective anti-tumor activity. This demonstrated that our graphlet-based methods for comparing topology around proteins in a PIN can link network topology with biological function. It led to an ERC Starting Grant (€1.6M) that Dr. Przulj obtained in 2012 to study this further.
