Using evidence from European industry and academia, the research analysed how to achieve Government targets for switching to electric cars and to manage battery charging to minimise CO2 emissions. Launched at the Science Media Centre, June 2010, it received immediate coverage, including The Times, BBC, Guardian, Telegraph and Reuters. Used in DfT as briefing for the Secretary of State, recommendations have been adopted in the Government paper “Making the Connection – The Plug-In Vehicle Infrastructure Strategy”.
