The PASCAL Visual Object Classes (VOC) challenge, which we co-organize, is a benchmark in isual object category recognition and detection, providing a standard dataset of images and annotation, and standard evaluation procedures. The paper describes these, and reviews methods that have been applied in the challenge.
The PASCAL VOC challenge has been hugely influential in the computer vision and machine learning communities. The datasets are used and mentioned in hundreds of publications, and a large number of international groups take part in the challenge each year.
