Science - exhibited in 'What is now proven was once imagined'
Ling was commissioned to create a series of works that explored the interrelationship of science and art, with the aim to investigate how different art forms could reveal interpretations and understandings of complex scientific research findings, to new audiences. Through his investigation into viral structures, Ling saw a relationship to the geometric calligraphic forms, which became the basis of this work. Using digital media and calligraphic approaches together, Ling’s works explored the interrelationship between calligraphy and science.
The work was exhibited at: Nobel Museum Stockholm (6 February – 6 June 2008); Medical Museionn, University of Copenhagen, Denmark (21 January – 12 April 2009); Retoria Gallery, University of Porto (21 September – 30 November 2009).
