Additional information

CPW-1: This paper, with the Hutchison/MRC Cancer Research Centre and the Leeds Institute of Molecular Medicine, reports an electronic, multiplexed, label-free protein sensor for clinical diagnostics. High-sensitivity, reproducible detection is demonstrated in serum through an electrochemical impedance phase-change upon antibody(mimetic)-biomarker binding. This patented technology (WO2008/032066, priority 16/09/2006) subsequently won the 2008 NASA international Nano-50-award, and with CPW-2 attracted EPSRC follow-on funding with Avacta (EP/I500928, PI:Wälti, £101,349), a £100k NIHR i4i programme (II-FS-0109-11095), industrial proof-of-concept investments from Aptuscan and Swiss Precision Diagnostics, and a Regional Development Agency Proof-of-Commercial-Concept award (£100k, 2009). IP Group is appraising the technology for university spin-out (cassie.doherty@ipgroupplc.com).
