This paper, in the top fluid mechanics journal (WoK), presents the first study that systematically investigates the effect of curvature on arterial flow dynamics. It led to a successful PhD project (the student is now a postdoctoral researcher at University of Southampton). I had two further collaborations as a direct result, resulting in a publication in Physics of Fluids, and in a successful application for a Royal Society International Joint Project. Several seminar invitations resulted from the work, including Genoa (Italy), Simula (Oslo), Adelaide, Auckland and UK universities.
