Double-weighted statement

Sport and Politics in Modern Britain is the first wide-ranging historical study of the increased interaction between sport and the state since 1945, charting the complex interaction between local, national and international themes in sport policy making. The basis for this work is an extensive study of previously underutilised material on sport policy from a broad range of archives, including material from twelve separate government departments and repositories at the National Archives, for example the Cabinet, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Treasury, the Foreign Office, the Department of Education and the Ministry of Housing, the Home Office and Local Government.
