Additional information

In this study we applied a novel method for the assessment of myocardial perfusion based on the gradient between epi- and endocardial blood flow. The method was developed (and patented) by us in collaboration with Philips and validated in phantoms, animals and pilot-studies before being used prospectively in this study. For the first time we were able to provide a quantification tool that performed as accurately as highly specialized experts in a fully automated fashion. The method will be applied in the NIH funded 8000-patient prospective outcome ISCHEMIA trial as well as integrated into the next Philips perfusion software.
