Additional information

LISFLOOD-FP is a two-dimensional hydrodynamic model specifically designed to simulate floodplain inundation over complex topography for grid sizes from 10cm to 10km and domain scales from a few hecatres to whole continents. It has undergone major transformations over the period 2008-13 and is now based on a unique numerical solution of the shallow water equations for which Bates was awarded the Lloyd’s Science of Risk Prize 2012. Since 2008, 42 ISI-listed journal papers have been published using the code, and the shareware version has been downloaded by >300 unique users. For more details, and to download the model, see http://www.bristol.ac.uk/geography/research/hydrology/models/lisflood.
