Welsh-language provision on party web sites during the 2010 UK General Election
<21> The paper introduces goal-directed walkthroughs and wireframes as a method for qualitatively assessing the user experience from a Welsh-speakers perspective.
Part of a study tracking the use of Welsh on political party websites (see also Aslib Proceedings, 60 (3), 2008). The study of social media on these sites was drawn upon when Cunliffe was commissioned by the Welsh Language Board to write an independent report entitled “The implications of web2.0 for bilingualism on websites – towards best practice” (2009). This was subsequently incorporated into an Advice Note on Information Technology for publication by the Welsh Language Commissioner (2013, forthcoming).
