<28> This article appeared in one of the principal computational systems biology journals, and also featured in the Faculty of 1000 Biology, Most Viewed Top 10 and Hidden Jewels Top 10 in Genomics and Genetics in July 2010. It introduces a new predictive model of a paradigm circadian network constructed through optimisation to multiple experimental data sets. The model is used as to show that multiple interlocked feedback loops can give rise to circuits in which evolutionary flexibility can promote robustness, suggesting a more general design principle. The work was a key component in an EPSRC-funded interdisciplinary project (£500k).
