A chemokine self-presentation mechanism involving formation of endothelial surface microstructures.
This study provided evidence of chemokine self-stimulation of presentation at sites of inflammation. This work is part of the successful follow-on funding from the Dowager Countess Eleanor Peel Trust to study microvascular endothelial cells and mesenchymal stem cells in inflamed synovium (£98,735). The study formed part of a MRC Doctoral Training Grant “Syndecan-3 in inflammatory disease” (awarded, 2012) (Prof.Jim Middleton, tel: +44117 342 4146) and the BBSRC Industrial CASE Studentship with ProtAffin Biotechnologie AG, Austria (Prof Andreas Kungl, tel: +43(0)316 382541). These findings were featured in an invited Lecture at Gordon Research Conference on Chemotactic Cytokines,Lucca (Barga), Italy, 2010.
