Additional information

<33>Many researchers have criticised the methods used in software engineering (SE) experiments and quasi-experiments. This paper presents the first systematic assessment of the quality of SE experiments. It used a novel interrupted time series analysis and found a general increase in the quality of SE experiments during the period 1992-2010. The study identified areas where research reporting had improved and identified areas where improvement was still required.
