This work was carried out in the context of EC funded Health-e-Child (16 Million-Euro/FP6, No. 027749) and neuGrid (FP7, No. 211714) projects. Health-e-Child built a cross-modality and longitudinal information fusion system for distributed biomedical knowledge discovery. In the EC funded TRANSFoRm project (7 Million-Euro/FP7, No. 247787), this work has been used by the consortium to enable provenance of scientific studies for clinical research in the primary healthcare domain. The work has also been exploited, through an industrial partnership with Roche Switzerland, to produce a Clinical Trial Management System, which is expected to help the company in bringing down operational costs and speed up the drug discovery process.
