The novel circuit topology presented in this paper is expected to change the scene in contactless power transfer, as it is reported to achieve more than 20 times higher power transfer than traditional systems, when compared under the same conditions. This, for the first time, places capacitive power transfer at a comparative level to inductive power transfer and opens the way to the former serving a wide range of applications previously unsupported.
