Additional information

Service-oriented networks have potential to change internet's architecture. Paper presents network architecture for building a service-oriented optical internet. Architecture is capable of supporting coordinated discovery and provisioning of IT and optical network resources. Paper also proposes, for first time, architecture for enabling infrastructure providers, network operators and application providers to participate in new business scenarios where complex IT and network services can be offered efficiently. Work is result of Nejabati's RCUK fellowship (£125k, 2006-11) and significantly contributed to award of European grant "MANTYCHORE" (No. 261527, €1.4M, 2010-3) with strong industrial involvement from Telefonica, Spain [contact: Senior Technology Expert].
