Additional information
<20>This paper reports on 3 years of studies “in the wild” with parents of sick infants, which resulted in an empirical user model of how health updates should be tailored. The rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis extends the research for which Moncur won First Prize in the Microsoft/ACM Student Research Competition at CHI, and our 2010 IEEE Transaction on Information Technology in BioMedicine journal paper. Authorship reflects NHS collaboration. The research has been reported by STV, BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Online, and has resulted in funding for a PhD studentship to extend the research to support carers.
