Stereotypical trust and bias in dynamic multi-agent systems
<22>This paper builds upon AAMAS 2010 conference paper http://tinyurl.com/c7dop6a (a selective, >80% rejection, conference). A key contribution from Burnett’s PhD (lead supervisor: Norman); was one of two runners-up in the 2012 CPHC/BCS Distinguished Dissertations Competition. This is distinct from Norman2: it addresses the problem of assessing trust in potential partners prior to making decisions. The research was funded by the ITA project (usukita.org, 2006-2016), highlighted by White House press release as an example of strong U.S.-UK collaboration in education, science and innovation: http://tinyurl.com/7quvnm7. Its contribution led to continued funding within this research programme, 2011-2015.
