Additional information

This paper describes a new method for selective nerve stimulation to improve the functioning of vagal nerve stimulators. It was developed for epilepsy, depression, control of heart rate and obesity. The study secured funding from two Danish charities, Augustinus Fonden (www.augustinusfonden.dk/About/Organization.aspx) and Jyske Banks Almennyttige Fond (www.jyskebanksalmennyttigefond.dk/), as well as a spin-out company from Aalborg University called Healt'n Tech. The funding of the research attracted attention from Danish national television (Nordjyske TV) and a national newspaper (Nordjuske Stifstidende).
