A previous form (but in all essentials the same) of this paper (published as part of EuroCorr 2011 conference proceedings) was requested to be republished (the only paper so chosen from some two hundred delivered at the conference) in the Journal of The Australasian Corrosion Association. It appeared in the May 2012 issue of that Journal. The paper will also be summarised as part of a book on “nanotechnology applied to coatings” being edited by Dr Andrzej Miszczyk at the Technical University of Gdansk. It is relatively recently been published but has already collected a number of citations (source Google Scholar).
