Additional information

<07> This paper demonstrated how secure access to "sensitive" data from the NHS (hospital admissions, mental health and death data), from the Office of National Statistics and Geospatial data from organisations like EDINA could be seamlessly accessed and used for valid (ethical) research purposes. This work has since been used as the basis for a variety of major projects and initiatives including the $20m Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) project. The original publication was submitted to the UK e-Science AHM conference with only shortlisted publications put forward to this journal that had made a "tangible impact on science".
