Disability as Constructed Difference: A Literature Review and Research Agenda for Management and Organization Studies
This paper is the first to offer a comprehensive conceptual and theoretical framework on disability as constructed difference. Published in a highly regarded journal focusing on reviews rather than empirical studies, this paper outlines a theoretical lens to conceptualising and theorising disability and impairment for studies of difference in management and organisation studies. The paper makes an additional contribution by conceptualising disability as a constructed difference in relation to ableism, an assumption of non-disability as an organising norm. The article has been cited in Sociology.
