Additional information

The paper presents a computational study on various procedures for valve replacement and repair. Together with our clinical collaborator (UCLH, Mr. O. Agu; o.agu@ucl.ac.uk), the methodology will be used to evaluate clinical scenarios for valve repair. The work in this paper was the basis of a successful Royal Society Grant (RG100100) entitled “In-Silico Workflow for the Patient-Specific Simulation of Cardiac Valves”) and, also, for the award of a UCL doctoral prize, awarded to K. Lau, who continued the research. V. Díaz has been invited to present this work in the “Yale-UCL Cardiovascular Device Innovation Summit” (Jan. 2013).
