Additional information

Use of biodegradable TIPS microspheres for cell expansion and delivery for therapeutic applications is described. The novel approach is amenable to a number of clinical conditions. On successful completion of the first-in-man clinical studies with TIPS microspheres, studies investigating their use as a cell microcarrier in humans are planned. Preliminary discussions have been held with regenerative medicine companies who have an interest in the use of TIPS microspheres as a combined cell-scaffold device.
