Additional information

This paper presented techniques to address commonly found flowing rate measurement problems in practice from a different angle. The new method is based on B-splines algorithm in the process of transient pressure deconvolution. The corrected rate profile using this technique will ensure the quality of the corresponding transient pressure response, therefore deriving the correct analysis results. The numerical test results show that the method can handle the field measured flowing rate with 10% rate error.

English abstract

A new algorithm based on B-splines was proposed to consider the rate measurement error during pressure convolution. Several methods were provided to determine the actual rates for each flow period, which can be utilized to determine the actual pressure response in turn. The results show that unit-rate pressure with 10% rate error agrees well with the true results, which is much better than that from ILK model. The new algorithm can overcome the effect of rate measurement error on the pressure response.
