MR-2: This paper is the first quantitative account of cost in long-distance quantum cryptography systems, and provides architectural and physical insights into the design, implementation and quality-of-service of the resulting network. The work led to an EPSRC first grant (EP/J005762, PI:Razavi, £98,178), and new collaborations with Tsinghua University (xma@tsinghua.edu.cn), the University of Hong Kong (chffung@hku.hk), and Raytheon BBN Technologies (sguha@bbn.com). Together with MR-1 and MR-3, it also led to an invited talk at the OSA's 'Quantum Information and Measurement (QIM)' meeting (Berlin, 2014).
