Additional information

The significance of this paper is that it successfully combines Fluid Mechanics with Analytical Mechanics, to study vortices.

The paper, presents an original approach to explain the location of cavitation clusters, combining Hamilton’s Principle with Fluid Mechanics, a model of the cavitation clusters is created and validated using experimental results.

The model can be applied to understand the pattern of cavitation erosion arising in ultrasonic horns used to boost chemical reactions.
