Additional information

Co-written with Alan Bailey (Wolverhampton University). The chapters were divided up according to the author’s respective areas of expertise and written wholly independently. We had meetings to discuss the progress of the book and to ensure our contributions were consistent approximately every two months. O’Brien wrote chapters 6 (‘That Simple and Sublime Argument), 8 (‘The Problem of Evil’), 9 (‘Miracles’), 10 (‘The Natural History of Religion’), 11 (‘Morality’), and 13 (‘Was Hume an Atheist?). O’Brien’s contribution amounts to approximately 60,000 words.
