<12>Although there are several algorithms on quality-based fusion, our work advances the state of the art in quality-based fusion by unifying several algorithms into a coherent framework. We discovered two new algorithms that are easier to implement in practice and give a more stable, and potentially improved, performance. The work has significantly advanced the understanding of quality-based fusion, and has led to invited talks in the Biometric Summer School and at IDIAP, Switzerland in Jan 2012. TPAMI is among the top journals in biometrics
