<01> This paper received the prestigious ‘Best Student Paper’ Award from the Korean Information Display Society for which the first author received a prize of $800. The display described in the paper uses a projector to provide the illumination. A more advanced version of this technique where the illumination is provided by an LED matrix will be developed by Prof. Xiaowei SUN (Division of Microelectronics, School of EEE) at Nanyang Technological University in a $9.5M project “Towards the reality of 3D Imaging and Display. DMU is collaborating in this research.
