<22>The paper extends work presented at AAMAS 2010 ("On the Logic of Argumentation Theory") and in a technical report (ILLC, PP-2009-204, "Doing Argumentation Theory in Modal Logic"). It was praised by Johan van Benthem, who in his recent book “Logical Dynamics of Information and Interaction” (Cambridge, 2011) refers to it as the "right level of abstraction" for the study of argumentation. Our application of modal logic to argumentation has been the basis of a PhD thesis (Gratie, Utrecht University, 2012) and its related publications (CLIMA 2012, AiML 2012).
