Additional information

<24> This paper presents a novel experimental paradigm and results that integrate semiotic investigation with a dynamical perspective on embodied social interactions. This work constitutes a methodological shift in the study of human-human communication mediated by technological means, and is having a significant impact in virtual reality community, particularly in Japan, where an extension of this work has been funded by a Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (Kakenhi) to I. Takashi. Moreover, H. Iizuka, from Osaka University, has been funded by JSPS for exchange visits at Plymouth University to continue the collaboration with Marocco.
