<12>The paper proposes a novel methodology for complexity management of fuzzy systems with feedback rule bases. The methodology makes use of formal methods for presentation, manipulation and transformation of rule bases. The results in the paper facilitate the understanding of fuzzy systems in terms of interacting subsystems and reduce the qualitative complexity of these systems by improving the transparency of their rule bases.
