Towards a collaborative modeling and simulation platform on the Internet

<25>This paper describes the research that underpinned the development of a prototype collaborative modelling and simulation platform implemented on the Internet. This is the first work of this kind to investigate the factors influencing simulation performance (e.g., running speed, accuracy, and stability), pertinent to multidisciplinary simulation applications running on the Internet, rather than focusing on simulation data exchange as in most of current work. The first author has been invited to give a keynote speech in the international conference CAMAN2012.
