<10>The main impact of this paper was to lay the basis for a new idea that led to the extension of an EU FP6 project, GridTrust, to a new EU project proposal that was submitted to FP7 ICT call 5 (2009). The central idea of the new proposal was to provide security controls for Cloud-based storage systems as part of a wider risk management framework for Cloud services. This concept was entirely based on the work carried out in this paper within the domain of storage-area networks (nowadays part of Cloud-based storage systems).
