Additional information

<28>This is the first paper studying the adequacy of current biological databases. It revealed a low level of consistency, comprehensiveness and compatibility among three popular pathway databases (KEGG, Ingenuity and Wikipathways). It is the first attempt at building a platform for consistent, comprehensive and unified pathway access. The research has inspired major efforts in building a uniform pathway resource and the technology proposed has been widely adopted e.g. USA Sage Bionetwork system and in the €22M EU eTRIKS project in which Guo is a PI (http://www.imi.europa.eu/content/etriks).
