Additional information

<19> This paper was published at ACM/IFIP/USENIX Middleware, the premier conference in the area. It is the outcome of a collaboration with the NHS Eastern Cancer Registration and Information Centre (ECRIC) (through Dr. Brian Shand), and makes it the first work to demonstrate that complex high-level medical security policies can be enforced using a low-level theoretically-grounded Information Flow Control model. In collaboration with NHS ECRIC, a follow-on EPSRC "Pathways to Impact" grant developed a secure data processing application based on this approach and deployed it as part of the NHS infrastructure (published at Middleware'11). Acceptance: 16.4%/116.
