Additional information
This paper was the result of a collaborative project with the School of Materials at The University of Nottingham, in which I used a novel fabric air permeability testing instrument developed at the University of Leeds by me. The findings showed that this instrument is capable of measuring fabrics having inherently low air permeability levels. This is important to enable the development of fabrics for garments and specialized applications in providing desirable microclimates inside fabric enclosures. The results were based on large samples giving a high level of statistical significance.
