Additional information

Hydrogen sulphide induced concrete corrosion is a huge economical problem in many sewer networks worldwide and it is caused by bacteria. This paper presents the determination of the growth kinetics of these bacteria under conditions that mimic those found in the sewer systems. This provides a move towards dynamic modelling of the corrosion process giving the potential for prediction of corrosion and odour problems. This model is currently under development for catchment scale applications.
