Additional information

In wet granulation, it is important to properly control the wetting and nucleation processes to maintain the desired attributes of the final granules. This paper presents a new computer model to simulate the wetting and nucleation processes. This is the first model which can provide accurate solid-fluid interactions with wetting effect, where no such work can be found in the literature. The model developed helps understand the mechanism of the wetting and nucleation processes and estimate the penetration times during actual granulation in industry. This work based on this model was shortlisted for the UKPTF Young Researchers Award in 2012.
