Additional information
<16> This work optimises the performance of web servers which is key to the successful operation of e-commerce services provided through web portals or price comparison websites. It has potential applications in real life services (e.g., travelsupermarket.com, E*TRADE Financial Corp.) as businesses increasingly employ strategies to enhance their web servers’ performance which in turn improves customer’s satisfaction — e.g., E*TRADE guarantees that orders will be executed within two seconds. This work has also identified a new research problem which was investigated by a PhD student at Bradford University co-supervised by Younas.
