<13> Reports work arising from EPSRC grant (GR/S46437/01), Capacity and Throughput Improvement Techniques for Broadband Fixed Wireless Access Systems. It advanced the state of the art for the analysis and design of the practically significant and high performance turbo codes. These codes are fundamental to modern high rate broadband wireless communication systems. It also led to award of a follow-on EPSRC grant (EP/E012108/1), Node Cooperation for Fixed Wireless Access. IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications is a highly respected journal in the field of communication systems, e.g., it is ranked A by Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) initiative.
