Additional information

This paper reveals a new mechanism of membrane degradation my antimicrobial peptides, which are considered as next-generation antibiotics. It contains a combination of various techniques to obtain structural and chemical information on the pore-formation mechanism. Hoogenboom's group carried out essential experiments for this work, notably the real-time visualisation of the membrane degradation by atomic force microscopy.
