Additional information

This paper reports the development and application of a novel virtualised network malware testbed, for application in studying the epidemiology of fast network worms, as well as the study of candidate countermeasures. Much of the work was completed by Shahzad, while being supervised as a PhD student by Woodhead. This development is part of a larger body of work, being led by Woodhead, to develop both simulation and empirical investigation tools for such applications.
