Additional information

First publication of new topology optimization method using design criterion contours to generate structural boundary, allowing multiphysics optimization. Published in highly regarded optimization journal, led to publications on method’s extensions to: 3D continuum, multiple load cases and stiffener designs of thin shell structures. Continued international collaboration with leading Spanish optimization group at Cartagena University. Has led to: KTP with EADS UK (£138K) on topology optimization of aircraft components (Reference number: 8074) and new collaboration with another Spanish leading optimization group at the University of the Basque Country in Bilbao: (javier.canales@ehu.es, ruben.ansola@ehu.es)
