A quantitative investigation of the structure of Raney-Ni catalyst material using both computer simulation and experimental measurements
(IF 6.0) This paper describes international collaborative research with Leiden University undertaken as part of the 41m euro FP6 project "IMPRESS" (http://www.spaceflight.esa.int/impress/) led by the European Space Agency (david.john.jarvis@esa.int). The work quantitatively links fundamental materials modelling at atomistic scales with experimental studies determining the atomic arrangements forming at leached Ni-Al catalytic powder surfaces, quantitatively predicting the kinetics of the leaching process itself. Journal of Catalysis is the premier scholarly publication in the field of catalysis and is ranked fifth in ISI category Chemical Engineering journals in the world in terms of impact and relevance.
