Additional information

The fate of cohesive mud can cause significant damping of incident waves and alter shoreline morphology. This is important in the extraction of wave energy and coastal protection. The work (funded by a New York Sea Grant Scholar Fellowship) is unique as it is the first study to model analytically the effects of waves on highly non-linear, visco-plastic mud, without significant limiting approximations and assumptions.
