Work was outcome of international collaboration with University of Vigo, Spain. First to propose observing and modelling non-beat time instants as well as beats, outperforming state of the art methods. Also first to estimate reliability of beat tracking estimates, demonstrating further improvements where files can be selected. Precursor method (DRP3) ranked first in international MIREX evaluation 2009 (SMC, all 10 measures, www.music-ir.org/mirex). Method used in algorithm (ZDG2) ranked first in MIREX 2012 (McKinney, 5 of 10 measures).
