Additional information

This paper provides for the first time a full analysis of the structure of the solutions to the equations that describe viscous liquid jet break-up. The break-up of jets are utilized in various manufacturing processes. It is desirable to control break-up, to produce uniform sized droplets. However, because this is a complex instability process, this is difficult to do. This paper provides a detailed understanding of how a jet breaks-up, where it will rupture, and the possibility for multiple break-up points. The result of this paper is a detailed insight into how to control a liquid jet.
