Additional information

This paper focuses on a technical nuance with the software reporting and hardware sampling in an expensive apparatus that is part of the EPSRC instrument loan pool and thus used by a spectrum of UK scientists.

In summary, validated models of the cavitation scenarios did not match well with the experimental data, but could be attributed to timing issues on the hardware. By independently measuring the camera parameters during operation, this research uncovered the source of the discrepancy - information passed to the manufacturer so that the issue can be resolved in future.
